I LOVE CAMIO!!! Wow!! What a wonderful site!! I love art and CAMIO is so accessible to learn more about art. Our school doesn't have an art teacher. Last year we had an university art teacher come in and talk about some works with the students. They all really enjoyed this visit with the art historian. We will be able to show the students all kinds of art. Different media, time periods, artists, etc. Wow!!
1. I checked out Paul Revere. I knew he was a Silversmith. I have visited Williamsburg, VA several times. I didn't realize how intricate his pieces were - amazing!
2. Sioux - 63 pieces shown. Included clothing, drawings, dolls, pipe bowl, etc. Beautiful! Many held by The Detroit Institute of Arts & Minneapolis Institute of Arts.
3. Check out your favorite artist. Well, first off - I couldn't decide who my favorite artist was. I like so many! (My mom is an artist so I have visited many art museums). Anyway, I went through and looked at many. I would have to say my favorite is: Henri Matisse. I searched for Matisse and CAMIO came up with 208 works. Very clear, beautiful paintings!
4. I am going to show this resource to my other collegues - especially the social studies teachers! Very awesome tool!
5. I saved several Henri Matisse paintings and will use them in Sept. to use with the Jazz unit I'm doing in our After School program. I will see what feelings these paintings invoke.
Again, I am so happy to know there is this great Art resource! Thanks!
Your enthusiasm is a joy! Thanks for comments. We are pleased to be able to provide this for you.
